Is That True for You?
You are a different person every year because of growth and life experiences. It goes the same for your significant other. When you and your significant other grow, the relationship changes, and you might feel the relationship needs to align with you and your significant other. You might think that either of you is growing further and further apart. You begin to wonder if your relationship will last.
You find significant adjustments overwhelming, impacting your relationship with your significant other. The events could be taking the next step in your relationship, starting a family, divorcing/breaking up and co-parenting on good terms, taking care of elders, transitioning to new stages of life, or experiencing empty nest syndrome (adult children move out of the house and leave you two).
You feel your communication needs to be fixed and find it confusing because it worked in the past. It could be from different communication styles due to different familial backgrounds. You and/or your significant other might have developed unhealthy communication patterns in the early stage of your relationship but want to break the habits.
Relationship therapy benefits you and your significant other to grow closer and build that connection again with the new tools you will learn.
Relationship therapy supports you and your significant other navigate the big adjustments depending on your goals.
Relationship therapy provides supportive communication tools that both can utilize in your relationship.
Couples therapy sparked my interest! So, I took intensive training from The Gottman's Institute. The Gottman Method is a research-based approach that I incorporate with my counseling training. I hold a level 2 Gottman Trained Couple's Therapist certification since 2019.
